Ingredients
- 200g Chicken Thigh Strips
- 40g Surinamese Herbs
- 1 Onion
- 2 Garlic
- 250g Crumbly Potatoes
- 150g Green Beans
- 200g Peas
- Puff Pastry
- 1 Apple
- 1 tbsp Butter
- 1 tbsp Olive Oil
- 2 tbsp Flour
- 2 tsp White Wine Vinegar
- 1/2 block Chicken Bouillon
Method
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 220 degrees. Mix the chicken thigh strips with half of the Surinamese herbs and 1/2 tbsp olive oil per person in a bowl. Season with salt and pepper. Chop the onion. Crush or finely chop the garlic.
Step 2
Heat 1/2 tbsp butter per person in a frying pan with a lid over medium heat and fry the onion and garlic for 1 - 2 minutes. Add the chicken thigh strips and cook for 5-6 minutes. Meanwhile, wash the potatoes thoroughly and then cut into small cubes. Remove the stem from the green beans and cut the green beans into 3 equal pieces.
Step 3
Add the green beans, potato cubes, other Surinamese herbs and per person 100 ml water and 1/4 chicken stock cube. Mix well and season generously with salt and pepper. Cover and let it simmer for 5-6 minutes. Finally mix in the peas and 1 tbsp flour per person. Divide the filling over an oven dish and cover with the puff pastry. Cut a few slices diagonally in the puff pastry; for decoration and to allow steam to escape.
Step 4
Bake the pie in the oven for 20-25 minutes. Meanwhile, cut the apple into small cubes and mix in a bowl with 1 tsp white wine vinegar per person, pepper and salt. Divide the pie among the plates. Serve with the apple.
