Ingredients

  • 1 Onion
  • 1 Garlic
  • 1 Bell Pepper
  • 1 Leek
  • 170g Orzo
  • 1 tbsp Middle Eastern Herbs
  • 1 can Tomato Puree
  • 200g Ground Beef with Kofteherbs
  • 25g Rasped Italian Cheese
  • 75g Mascarpone
  • 350ml Vegetable Bouillon
  • 1 tbsp Butter
  • 2 tsp Black Balsamic Vinegar

Method

Step 1

Prepare the stock in a pan with a lid for the orzo. Chop the onion and press or finely chop the garlic. Cut the bell pepper into cubes. Cook the orzo in the pan with a lid, covered, for 8 - 10 minutes over low heat until dry. Toss regularly.

Step 2

Heat the butter in a large skillet with a lid over medium heat. Fry the onion, garlic, and Middle Eastern spice mix for 2 minutes. Add the tomato puree and minced beef and fry for 3 minutes. Meanwhile, cut the leek into half rings.

Step 3

Add the leek and bell pepper to the skillet and cook, covered, over medium heat for 5 minutes. Add the balsamic vinegar and orzo and cook for 1 minute. Add half of the mascarpone and stir well. Season with salt and pepper.

Step 4

Divide the orzo over the plates and spoon a spoonful of mascarpone on top. Garnish with the grated Italian cheese.
